Mark's Finest Papers Color Challenge design team:
and ME!

Do you ever need some inspiration when you are creating your cards? Join Shirley Qu and her team for MFP Inspirational Challenge.
Every week Shirley will post 3 photos to inspire you. Even though there will be 3 photos, you only need to create one card. You can create 1,2,3,4 or more!
Join the team every Wednesday at 8:00am for some great inspiration!

We encourage you to participate in all of MFP challenges, but to limit your submissions to 5 per challenge, per week. Each submission needs to be a new card (no cards that have been posted prior to the challenge date). Please do not submit the same card for every challenge, each submission should be a different card for each submission and each challenge.

View Full Challenge Guidelines rules.

Please join in on all the Speedy TV Challenges ( Color, FOSTV, Inspiration and Oriental Sketch ) each month. The monthly winner will be announced on the Speedy TV home Page . One lucky winner will be chosen to be our Guest Designer for the following month and receive a 25% discount during that month for a one time shopping spree. To be considered for Guest Designer you must use MFP Stamp Shop stamps on your challenge card. All cards made during your reign as Guest Designer must also only use MFP Stamp Shop stamps. You must also have a blog write up for each challenge as the Guest Designer as everyone will be directed to your blog to read about your card and all the fun you are having being our Guest Designer.  Occasionally we may randomly choose a card that does not use MFP Stamp Shop stamps. That person will receive stamped images ( if they do not own a MFP Stamp Shop set ) to use during their month as Guest Designer and receive the 25% discount. When your name has been announced as the following months Guest Designer the MFP office will be notified automatically who will receive a discount. The list of Challenge themes and dates will be emailed to you, immediately upon receiving your email address, so you can get started. Please send your email address to ptgrvn@gmail.com

Let's have fun with colors!! Every Wednesday we will pick a color or colors for you to use on a card or other paper craft. Lis R. and her team will inspire you to use colors you may not thought about using together before.

Remember there is never a mistake in an inspiration challenge. It is all about what inspires you. You might receive you inspiration from a shape, the colors, or something the picture reminds you of.

Jan. 28th **INSPIRATIONAL** Challenge 89 - Hot Air Balloons.

Here's my sample for Mark's Finest Papers design team.

I love MFP Hot Air Balloons. All I needed were a couple of other balloons to accent the brightly colored image. I chose two balloons from My Favorite Things, die cut in simple pattern paper and stamped. I was able to use Copic markers to color MFP balloon with coordinating colors. I mounted it up to stand out. The cloud embossing folder was perfect for this card. I added a couple of gems and that was all that was needed to finish the card.

I used MFP stamp set "Hot Air Balloons".

Jan. 21st **INSPIRATIONAL** Challenge 88 - Zentangle

Find Zentangle images HERE.

Here's my sample for Mark's Finest Papers design team.

I love black and white and zentangle seems perfect for it. Admittedly, the background isn't my design and I can't take the credit for someone else's talent. The nuthatch image was ideal for this layout. I printed the background onto cardstock and stamped the nuthatch image using Memento Tuxedo Black. A tiny bow, a couple of gems and DONE! VERY simple card with a nicely tailored look!

I used MFP stamp set "Peaceful Nuthatch".

Jan. 14th **INSPIRATIONAL** Challenge 87 - Old barns with ads.
Here's my sample for Mark's Finest Papers design team.

I used a "wood" look embossing folder on a dark yellow piece of card stock. I took a black ink pad and rubbed over the top of the embossing giving it a weathered look. I stamped the image and colored it with Copic markers and stamped the sentiment "Peace" in black. I sponged the edges and attached it to a black background piece. I wanted the card to be simple, not much embellishing.  A bit of black twine was all it needed. The weathered wood card stock draws your attention and makes you think, BARNS! lol

I used MFP stamp set "A Trip To Lancaster".

Jan. 8th **INSPIRATIONAL** Challenge 86- Shabby chic bedrooms.

Here's my sample for Mark's Finest Papers design team.

I stamped my sunflower panel 3 times, one for the inside. I colored it using my Copic markers. I sponged black around the edges of the printed background paper. Then I used a crystal lacquer to add to the flower petals and gem stones to the center of the flower. A bit of twine and some more gems to the sentiment, using mounting tape to raise it a bit, and ta da...that's it!

I used MFP stamp sets "Polka Dot Country", "Chrysanthemum" (outside sentiment), "Thankful" (inside sentiment).
